Solo Tatiana Bilbao
This house is a composition of twenty-three identically dimensioned cubes. A cube is the most basic, habitable man-made space; a form not present in the wild. These blocks arise from the ground, affirming their firm connection to the site and to the earth itself. In order to imbue the blocks with a sense of domesticity, each one is carved out in a unique way so as to create openings but also to modulate, characterize, and differentiate interior spaces, thus creating specific environments for every program. Solo House makes use of differentiation processes within a repetitive system to create a morphological landscape interwoven with the wilderness of the site.
